Global investment is investment that includes investments from different world’s regions. Investment can be local, regional or global. Local investment would focus on one country or state market, when regional investment should be focused on several countries in one region (for example Western Europe). 

Global investment is international investment that includes at least two different continents of the world. However, the more continents it will include, the better diversified investments will be. 

Global investment is getting more popular instead only a local, because better diversification allows to make a more efficient investment portfolio and to achieve better results over long term than from local market.
